The tires on your Honda are precisely aligned to provide a smooth ride, decreased tire wear, and exceptional handling. But, over time, they can be knocked out of alignment. This may happen when you hit a pothole or a curb, or it might just be due to the rigors of day-to-day driving. In any case, misaligned wheels mean that the camber, toe, or caster is no longer at the right angle. We’ll inspect all four wheels’ alignment during an all-wheel alignment and adjust the camber, toe, and caster as needed.
Imagine that you’re looking at your vehicle head-on. Camber refers to the tilt of the wheels from this perspective. If the wheels are leaning towards each other at the top and away from each other at the bottom, it’s negative camber; positive camber is the opposite. Toe refers to the angle of the wheels from above. If the wheels are closer to each other at the front end, that’s toe-in. Toe out is when the wheels are farther away from each other at the front. Finally, the caster refers to the tilt of the steering axis when viewed from the side. All three of these angles should be precise to give you the best performance.
We recommend that an alignment service be performed once a year. However, if you notice your vehicle pulling to one side or the other, or if the tires show uneven wear, you should bring it in sooner. If your Honda is an all-wheel-drive model with independent suspension, it’s best to have an all-wheel alignment performed. But if you drive a front-wheel-drive Honda or a vehicle with a solid rear axle, a front-end alignment will likely be enough.
